Is the wild story of how I made over $1,000,000 in sixty seven days by creating a new physical product. It was March 2020. The world shut down. My wife was pregnant. My business was declining. I was worried about supporting my new family. Instead of panicking, I got busy. I worked like crazy and launched in seven days. Let's dive in. Day one. I sketch a simple idea I have, a brass keychain tool to open doors and press buttons without touching them. Perfect for the COVID world we lived in. I immediately text Jordan, an industrial designer right now. He's got some free time and estimates twenty five hours at $80 an hour. $2. We start immediately. I also email a factory rep I use in China named Best. I give her a rough description and tell her to find a factory that can machine small brass items. I tell her final CAD drawings will be sent shortly. Day two, Jordan sends the first mock ups. We go through designs quickly over text and settle on two or three final shapes to three d print. Day three, Jordan three d prints prototypes and yes them around grocery stores, elevators, and gas stations. It works perfectly.
