Today, we're making garlic braids. When the garlic leaves are dry, it's ready to be harvested and garlic needs time to cure, so it'll last all winter. A garlic braid is the perfect way to store it. I started off by cleaning the bulbs, gave them a haircut and got to braiding. I love garden rituals like this and how in the garden best and functionality coexist. Soon these braids will be hung in the kitchen where it'll be within reach for cooking. And because the garden never sits still, we planted tomatoes where the garlic had better. One harvest making way for the next.
