Transcript excerpt
Hey. Why is New Balance so obsessed with chickens? Chickens have really good balance and they can stand all day. Humans, on the other hand, suck at that. William J. Riley, the founder of New Balance, was gazing at a chicken's foot one day and was like, oh, we don't do that with our footwear. If this was the inside of a sneaker, your foot went here, your toe rested there, your heel rested tier, William J Riley said, wait a minute, chickens have something there supporting their heels. What if we added a little support to the arch of your feet? You know what would happen? You'd have better balance. In fact, you'd have a new balance. And new balance was born.
