Today is day three of building this year's Christmas tree, and we have the bleached amaranthus. So if you've been following along from the beginning, you would know that for this year's tree, I want it to look like it's drenched in melted wax. And not that long ago, I found out that bleached amaranthus looks super similar to melted candle wax. So I just bought out all the bleached amaranthus from the entire flower market. I bought over 50 bundles of these, and you can't tell me that this doesn't look like melted wax. Now it's time to place it on the tree. Wait. This looks so good. I start off by cutting all of the thick roots. And then from there, I place these around each one of these cups. There's no real rhyme or reason to this, but you just want it to look organic at the end. And then once you like how it looks, you just pin it all together. I'm using these thin little sewing pins. Next, it's time to add the candles. I wanted to make sure that the candles were the same color as the amaranthus. That way, it looks like it's one unit. I engineered the tree to be super stable and for none of the branches to be on top of each other when it's lit. I'm so happy this is our tradition.
