When you saw all the catch of a carabiner, the load has been released. The gate springs open. That's its natural resting spot of that spring. When you put the catch back on, the gate is under constant pressure. You have to push the gate inward in order to access this loop. There's, like, applications where maybe you actually want the gate to open outward. Thankfully, there's another construct that has existed for thousands of years that does that, The safety pin. The mechanism is exactly the same where there's this spring loaded gate that is being trapped by a catch. But with the safety pin, you can fish it around that catch and the gate opens outward. It makes it easier if you're fishing it through some layers of fabric or clothing. There's one scenario where we thought this type of application would be useful, and we hadn't really seen it used that way before, and that is in storing keys. We took this very simple construct and idea. We got rid of the pointed end. We made it out of a thicker gauge wire. We reproportioned it no that it has this flat side that is kind of perfect for nesting keys. So it has the same durability and robustness of a carabiner. But when you go to add key
