My name is Victor Solomon, and I'm a trophy designer. I grew up in Best, so I was sort of handed a Celtics jersey when I was born. I really found my connection to other people growing up and sort of built my community around basketball. On the seventy fifth anniversary of the league, we redesigned every single trophy going down from player of the month all the way up to the Larry O'Brien trophy. When we better trophy brief, we may sketch out some reference points that we know we wanna make sure we incorporate. The trophy is 23 inches tall because 2023 was the inception of the in season tournament. The eight struts that hold the cup up are representative of the eight teams in the knockout round, and that kind of leads into this base that has this basketball net inspired gold extrusion of which there are 30 spots to represent all 30 teams. As a big basketball rank, to see these athletes lift the hardware that we've designed for them, I think it's the gift of my career. They symbolize the end of this impossible journey that these athletes have dedicated their lives to.
