If you signed a June 1 lease agreement in New York, I'm starting to tell you that you're you're the last person in the history of the city to pay a worse broker fee. Everyone else, good news. The Fair Act is in effect starting Wednesday, June 11, and worse broker fees are illegal. Here's what that means. A broker you didn't hire cannot charge you a fee. If they try, they pay a fine.
