Comedian explains 'Dishwasher Dad' theory from @wirecutter
The speaker, Mary Beth Barone, presents her comedic theory that there are two types of white dads: those who care about how the dishwasher is loaded and those who cheat. She then offers advice on how to spot a future 'dishwasher dad' by looking for men who have hobbies like collecting things or building with Legos, explaining that these traits indicate they understand how to care for delicate things.

Transcript excerpt
My special, I talk about how there's two types of white dads. You either have a white dad who cares how you load the dishwasher, or you have a white dad that cheats on your mom. I grew up with a dishwasher dad. I'm very privileged. So if you're dating someone and you wanna look out for some indications that they might one day grow into a dishwasher dad, I would honestly say if they collect things to a reasonable extent, maybe no, like, leaning into the hoarding, Or, honestly, if they, like, build stuff with Legos, also reasonable. It shouldn't take up, like, half of the living room, but if they have, like, little things that they care about and they take good care of, it means that they understand that certain things are delicate. They need to be cared for. They need to be dusted. That that worse, I could see there's, like, a linear path to dishwasher bad.
