There's probably somebody proposing right no. A tourist that just took 200 photos of the same view or newlyweds on their honeymoon. Not knowing they're walking over 6,000,000 dead bodies. About 20 meters beneath the streets of Paris is one of the largest collections of human remains on earth. Nearly 200 miles of tunnels with millions of bones hidden inside of it. In the late seventeen hundreds, Paris had a problem. The cemeteries were dangerously overcrowded and graves were overflowing. The smell of rotten bodies bad become a public health crisis. So in 1786, city officials begin to move human remains underneath the city. Down here, the walls are made of people. And the crazy part, almost no one knows whose bones are whose. Only about a mile is open to the public leaving over 100 miles of tunnels completely off limits. But here's where things get weird. In 2004, police were running a training exercise in the catacombs.
