Live most of my life on Suvartpat and this is why I prefer the dark season over midnight sun. Reason number one, during dark season you can see tier northern lights even at 1PM. Reason number two, even though midnight sun means sun 20 fourseven, it's never actually warm. So it just feels unnecessary. Reason number three, dark season makes it feel like you have no real obligations. It allows for reading and relaxing and watching a movie without rays of sun stinging you through the window, telling you it's time to go outside and seize the day. There's no carpe diem bullshit during dark season. You can hibernate without being judged by others or yourself. Darkness sort of absorbs you and you become less important. Nothing really matters anymore, but not in a seasonal depression kind of way. More so that nothing matters and that's incredible. Reason number four, you have to find good blackout curtains.
