Fashion school grad shares warning from @alexgreifeld

The creator critiques the fashion school curriculum by sharing her personal story of graduating from FIT, starting a brand, and quickly failing due to a lack of business education. She contrasts the creative skills she was taught with the essential business skills she wasn't, such as market validation and financial management, and explains that this educational gap is why she now creates content to help other aspiring designers.

What it did teach me was how do you think like a designer at a major luxury worse, how to construct a quality garment, how to turn an idea into a wearable piece of clothing, and that is all incredibly valuable. Don't get me wrong, but that is just step one in a multi step process. I just had a chat with a follower and this is still happening. Schools will send you out to designer boutiques to study construction, they'll tell you to browse runway photos, to hone your eye for silhouette, But then tier rarely, if better, talk about how to validate that there is a real market for the product you design. And then they almost never tell you what to do if
