Transcript excerpt

This is making new friends in your forties and your thirties too. My name is Tim and his is Mayor Mom Donnie. The best part about making new friends is that you don't have to agree on everything, but there's usually something special that brought you together. And for the mayor and I, one of those things is how we do our best to take care of some of our tiniest New Yorkers. You see, as a New York Tier dad, I know how critical daycare can be. I also know how expensive it can be. So when I saw that the mayor announced that starting this fall, there's five school districts where families will have access to free city funded care for two year olds, well, I had to hop on the next train to City Hall to come down and learn more and shake his hand. Starting in the 2026, there'll be 2,000 seats that open up. There's a long list of neighborhoods that that will serve. And you can sign up for updates at schools.nyc.gov slash sign up. By the '27, he wants to open this up to 12,000 seats. And by year four, free two k childcare for all New York Tier families. So I was more than happy to run down here to help get the word out in the best interest of our littlest New Yorkers.
