Design breakdown of money clip mechanics from @craighillcompany
The creator deconstructs the mechanical failure of standard pen clips to introduce the engineering solution behind their titanium money clip. He demonstrates the design evolution using early prototypes, explaining how sliding planes and tapered offsets allow the product to retain its shape after use, contrasting it with the disposable nature of poorly designed clips.

The clip will never return to its original position because when you're gonna pinch it closed, it bottoms out against the inner surface and has some inherent spring bad. That small little issue is something we thought a lot about when we were designing our very first funny clip. What if this top plane and this bottom plane could slide past each other? This is, like, from Craig Hill early days. We, like, hollowed out the center. Additionally, we added in this taper, and so that when you fold them
