The creator shares a personal story about moving into his late grandmother's apartment and deciding to repair a traditional washi paper door he broke as a child. This act of repair leads him into a deep-dive explanation of washi paper's history, production, and unique scientific properties. He then pivots, connecting these properties to his work as a clothing designer, explaining how he developed a new denim fabric by blending cotton with washi yarn to create jeans with a unique architectural structure, ultimately framing the entire project as an 'autobiographical design' that connects his past with his present.
