Man explains surprising fact over B-roll from @insuremichigan
The creator explains a fact he learned from his dad: that road salt stops being effective at melting ice and snow below certain temperatures. He provides specific temperature thresholds (best above 20°F, ineffective in single digits) and applies this knowledge to an upcoming cold snap in Metro Detroit, warning viewers that roads can remain icy for days despite being salted.

Dad always used to tell me that road salt doesn't work when it's too good, and he was right. Regular road salt works best above 20 degrees. Once it drops below 15, it's not as effective. And then once you get in the single digits, it's pretty much useless. So if it's ever brutally cold like it will be in Better Detroit this week, they can salt the roads all they want, but there still can be ice and snow hanging around for days.
