I scored this gorgeous nineteen sixties record console at an estate sale, and while it was in pretty good shape for its age, it definitely needed some work. The whole piece was covered in chips, scrapes, and water damage. I started by scraping off the old finish, which was most likely a tinted lacquer, since it came off easily, and the wood underneath was bare and unstained.
