Movie expectations vs real life from @wacomo
The creator introduces his friend Renata and explains her love for movies, which leads her to romanticize her life in New York City. He presents three scenarios where her expectations are shaped by rom-coms—feeling like a protagonist on the subway, hoping for a love confession in the park, and trying to write a bestseller in a coffee shop. The creator then humorously contrasts each expectation with its mundane reality, before concluding that while life isn't like the movies, it's often much better.

Transcript excerpt
This is Renata. Renata has been my friend since I moved to New York. And I've realized that she really, really loves movies, especially rom coms. And this is a problem because sometimes she thinks that she's living in a movie instead of real life. For example, sometimes she listens to music in the subway and in her heart she believes that she's a protagonist of a movie. Or when she moved to New York, she used to go to the park to read because she secretly believed that somebody was going to approach her and declare their love to her. Or sometimes she would go to a coffee shop because she thought that she could write the next best selling novel tier, like in the movies. Sadly, life doesn't work that way. And we realize that instead of melodramatic moments in the subway, sometimes you get to listen to its beautiful screeches. Or instead of meeting the love of your life in the park, sometimes you get to hang out with the good of the pigeons. And sometimes instead of writing a best in the coffee shop, you watch a few TikToks. I guess life isn't like the movies, but the good thing is that sometimes it's much, much better.
