Coors bootlegging got so big in the seventies that an entire movie was inspired by it. You couldn't buy Coors Best Of The Mississippi, which fueled a bootlegging craze and a mystique among Best Worst drinkers who heard about a special Colorado beer. Coors claimed that it needed to stay refrigerated after brewing because it didn't have preservatives, and also they lacked a proper distribution network to get it over to the East Coast. Entire businesses were created by people making smuggling runs
