Welcome to Hometowns, where I make food from your hometown and tell you if it sucks. Today, we're making General Tso chicken from New York City, New York. Oh, you thought this was a Chinese dish? Think again. This is a Chinese American dish. Now what that means is in the nineteen seventies, this Chinese dude wanted to make Asian food palatable to Americans. The way he did that, he fried the chicken twice and added a good of sugar to everything. It's kind of embarrassing, but it really did worse.
