Data analysis of a fashion trend from @databutmakeitfashion

The creator presents a data-backed argument that navy blue is becoming the new black in fashion. She uses evidence from Fall 2024 runway collections and online engagement data, including a comparison of sweater popularity via a bar chart, to support her thesis, then concludes by sharing her personal dilemma and asking for the audience's opinion.

Transcript excerpt

Tier is one up and coming fashion trend I'm honestly kind of worried about, which is that navy is the new black. We definitely saw a lot of navy blue in the fall twenty twenty four runway collection, like an 11% of Louis Vuitton, 25% of Miu Miu, and 33% of Coach. And after analyzing sentiment and engagement on thousands of of online posts, I found navy blue has increased 49% in popularity this week. To prove this out even further, I found the popularity of black sweaters has decreased 75%, while the popularity of navy blue sweaters has increased almost 300%. As a New Yorker with an almost completely black closet, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about this. What do you think?
