Creator lists unconventional home designs from @lilswalty

The creator presents a list of six unconventional or retro interior design elements she believes should be brought back to add character to homes. For each item—glass blocks, wood paneling, stained glass, library ladders, sunken bathtubs, and Juliet balconies—she provides a rationale and shows aspirational visual examples, concluding that she wants a 'weirder' house, not a bigger one.

Transcript excerpt

Sucked all the life out of houses, so here's what I put back in mind. First, glass blocks. Hear me out. I want them in my shower. Better all of the light, but I don't have to make awkward eye contact with someone walking past while I'm shampooing my hair. Wood paneled walls. Before anybody says it, no. I don't mean the orange paneling that was in your grandparents' basement. I mean, the rich walnut expensive architect house kind, stained glass. I don't need an entire cathedral's worth. Just give me one stained glass window no my house throws little rainbows around all afternoon. Library ladders. I just know I'd become absolutely unbearable. Every important phone call would somehow happen from halfway up the ladder. Sunken bathtubs. No know people are worried about the safety concerns, but if I'm going down, I'm pretty much already at floor level. So honestly, it kinda feels safer to me. Also, they're cooler. They look epic. And finally, Juliet balconies. I don't even need to go outside. I just want somewhere to dramatically lean while staring at my neighbors with an overwhelming sense of deep yearning. I don't think I want a bigger house. I just want a weirder one.
