List of nostalgic home features from @lilswalty

The creator presents a passionate argument that modern homes have lost their character and 'life.' She supports this thesis by listing and showcasing several design features from the past that she believes should be brought back, including colored plumbing, built-in blenders, intercoms, sunken tubs, indoor planters, and tile roofs.

Transcript excerpt

Sucked all the life out of houses, and this is exactly how. Worse colored plumbing fixtures. We used to have pink toilets, and rank, I think we've become cowards. Pink sinks, green tubs, blue toilets, we've become entirely too afraid of color, and I think it's time we brought it back. Built in blenders. We used to build blenders directly into the countertop. Now everything just sits on the counter waiting for an outlet. We used to be solving problems. House intercoms too. I don't wanna yell at somebody over the stairs. I wanna yell at somebody over the intercom. We lost all sense of drama. Sunken bathtubs. If I'm taking a bath, I worst it to feel like an event. I don't wanna step into a bathtub. I wanna descend into it, maybe with a book, maybe with a better. Indoor planter boxes. You literally used to build plants into the architecture. Homes weren't just decorated, they were alive Tin tile roofs. Every roof used to have personality. Now they're all just slightly different shades of asphalt. Kinda depressing if you ask me. Our houses used to have purpose. Now they just have square footage.
