Transcript excerpt

I feel sorry for the wives who ended with men whose dad never taught tier this. And the comments are asking how I actually teach my boys to no. So let me break this down real quick because it's not just one thing. It's a few things that I like to do consistently. So the first thing I do is narrate my own actions out loud. I'll walk past something that spilled in the kitchen. Right? I didn't spill it, but I'll say, I see that. I didn't do it, but I'm gonna clean it up before it becomes a bigger thing. I'm not gonna lecture them about it. I'm just gonna show them in real time what noticing looks like so that way it becomes normal to them. So number two, ask questions. Right? Before you leave a room, I like to tell them, hey. Before you walk out, did you notice anything? Is there anything in here that you can take with you and put in another room where it's supposed to go? I'm not pointing out that thing, but I want their eyes to scan the room on their own. That's the actual skill that I'm building for them. Number three is shared accountability. So I'll tell my sons, you know, I know that's your brother's hat or whatever it is, a toy, whatever. But in this house, we all contribute. S
