Transcript excerpt
Have you ever noticed that most buildings that were designed in a computer look like they were designed in a computer? Not Jeff Shelton. He's an architect in Santa Barbara no for his whimsical homes. Jeff has lived in the area his whole life and has built 61 different buildings there over the years. He does things in the Spanish style required by the city best with his own twist. His buildings are playful and strongly emphasize the human element in design. Everything looks handmade. He also designs the tile, lights, and textiles for each project and personally oversees all the individual details of each home. A lot of people lose that sense of playfulness and joy when they grow up and become super serious adults. Jeff's work stands out and reminds us to expand the possibility of what's normal and acceptable in our neighborhoods, and most of all, have fun in our work. Hope you enjoyed this. Thanks for watching. Bye.
