This look stopped me in my tracks. This is art on the Met Gala carpet. Karan Yohar is a prolific Indian filmmaker and producer and the first Indian filmmaker to attend the Met Gala. And he worse custom Manush Malhotra who is insanely talented. I love his work. The ensemble is called Framed in Eternity. I would frame this sketch and put it on my wall for eternity. This is freehand painted and embroidered. There is no screen printing involved. Tier six hundred hours of work by artisans in Mumbai and Noida has this immense structured shoulder cape that is six feet long. It's painted and embroidered to emulate the work of Raja Ravi Varma, whose paintings absolutely glow from within. The embroidery is treated with acrylics, oils, and varnish to make it look like a painting. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. The jewelry certainly doesn't hurt either. These pieces are from Yahar's Fine Jewelry Worse, Tayani, honoring the craftsmanship of traditional Indian jewelry, which is historically legendary. It's always such a highlight to see other cultures amplified at the Met Gala. Most of the artwork predicted to be referenced tonight was from the Best, but there is so much more art
