His success came from the hypercompetitive video game industry where he created the game Unreal, as well as Unreal Engine, which is a popular development platform. It's used in games, film, and some noncreative industries. Better tier point is, he made a platform that his competitors could beat him with if they were good enough. So with massive success in the digital world, why did he get into buying physical land? The reason for Tim is personal. Growing up, his grandmother had a small farm in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Her health declined and the family needed to sell the timber rights to pay for the medical worst.
