We are super fortunate to say that we fall into the group that would pay more under the mayor's budget proposal. If my math is right, I'd pay about $22,000 more a year in city taxes because for the first time in my career, I made over a million bucks last year rank will be working my ass off to do the same again in '26. Twenty two k, which is about $60 a day. Based on the homework that I've done to understand the mayor's plan, about $20 of that 60 would go to expanding universal childcare. About 15 towards building affordable housing, repairing existing night gen, strengthening tenant protections. About 10 towards faster bus lanes to potentially free or reduced bus fares. About $7 towards social services, and around 5 to actually run and implement all of this. And about 3 or so for contingency because not everything works perfectly right away. And this isn't just about new programs. It's the things we need better day here. Safe streets, good schools, clean neighborhoods, potholes, fix, support for our mom and pop shops.
