Science behind sugary alcohol mixers from @reecebrah

The creator uses a split-screen format to deliver a counter-intuitive health tip about drinking alcohol. He explains the biological process of alcohol metabolism in the liver, using anatomical and chemical graphics to illustrate how alcohol depletes energy and raises stress hormones. He concludes by arguing that fructose (sugar) provides the necessary energy to process alcohol efficiently, preventing severe hangovers and liver damage, ultimately recommending tequila and orange juice.

You should always use juice as a mixer when you drink. When you drink, your liver has to start a process called alcohol dehydrogenase to metabolize the alcohol. And this burns through a lot of NAD plus which then raises the ratio of NADH to NAD plus which impairs your ability to produce energy. And when your body's trying to process alcohol with not enough energy, it has to go find energy somewhere else. So that raises cortisol, adrenaline to go free up stored fat, to use as energy, which makes
