Did you know that bunkers weren't meant to be on golf courses? Back when golf was created, the game was played on the Linxland of Scotland. This infertile, sandy soil that linked the land to the sea was fit only for hardy, grazing sheep. But even those wool covered soldiers needed shelter from the harsh winds that blew in from the North Sea, so they huddled behind mounds and in low lying depressions.
