You don't have enough tall things in your room. Could it be that the secret sauce you worse looking for is actually height? Just like a garden would be boring if everything is planted the same height, so too in a room, if everything's the same height, it's just not very dynamic. Your eye needs to be able to bounce around a little bit. So where do you get that height? Things mounted on the wall like art, a tapestry, a bookshelf, window treatments, a skinny tall mirror.
