Being yourself is gonna feel like a performance if you have spent your whole life seeking approval from others and trying to fit into a box in hopes of being liked. Taking up space is gonna feel weird if you're used to shrinking yourself down as small as you can go to be sure that others feel comfortable around you. Just like you practiced wearing the mask, you're gonna have to also practice taking it off.
